Major cyber attack on TeamViewer, Russian hacker broke into corporate network

News broke about a significant cyber attack on TeamViewer, a software used for remote access. According to the report, Russian hackers hacked into TeamViewer's corporate network. The company itself has confirmed this in a statement. The company has claimed that this hacking was done by state-sponsored hackers who work for the Russian intelligence department, popularly known as APT29 or Midnight Blizzard.
According to the German company, its investigations have revealed that on June 26, the corporate IT network was attacked through an employee's account; however, this attack was stopped on its corporate network itself. As per the company, hackers could not access its internal network and user database since it keeps all databases separate.
