India's T20 skipper Suryakumar Yadav is now in London to have the right sports hernia treatment. He is likely to spend a few weeks out of the field. While Shubman Gill's Indian Test team is preparing to face a five-match series against England, the 34-year-old is employing the present gap in India's limited-over calendar to work on his recovery and on long-term fitness.

According to the report, the treatment of Suryakumar is to start next week, and he is expected to get back on the cricket field in August. Although the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet to issue a statement, according to the report, the medical procedure is expected to take a recovery time of nearly two months.

The calendar is favorable for Suryakumar Yadav, since India has no T20 engagement until August. He is going to Bangladesh on a white-ball tour. He will then have a home series against South Africa and the West Indies, before embarking on a tour to Australia, all of this leading to India's preparation to defend the 2026 T20 World Cup. Suryakumar's choice to have the surgery now is tactical, allowing him a window to be fully fit for the upcoming important T20 series.
