Indications of a massive gold reserve-estimated at 50,000 kilograms-have emerged in Andhra Pradesh, a development that could reduce India's gold imports. Commercial mining has already commenced in the Jonnagiri area of Kurnool district, and private companies will also be given the opportunity to participate.
