He stated that it will not be unexpected to see them play outstandingly in the next two matches.

Sunil Gavaskar, speaking to India Today, said that they were playing on Australia's bounciest wicket in the first ODI. This wasn't easy, especially for those who hadn't played any international matches in the past few months. It was especially challenging for Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer, who have generally been playing international cricket regularly.

He said that Champions Trophy winners India are still a good team. Don't be surprised if Rohit and Kohli score big in the next two matches. They have been away from international cricket for a few months. The more they play and the more time they spend in the nets, the sooner they will regain their rhythm.
