Redmi's new tablet launched with power bank like battery, starting price around 18,000

Redmi Pad 2 is available in global markets in a few countries on Thursday. Redmi Pad 2 is a new Android tablet from subsidiary company Redmi that is available in two colors. Redmi Pad 2 comes with an 11-inch display, providing 2.5K resolution. Redmi Pad 2 comes equipped with a MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. It also comes with a 9,000mAh battery and a quad speaker module with Dolby Atmos.

The Redmi Pad 2 is priced at GBP 169 (approximately Rs 18,000) in Europe for the base variant (4GB RAM + 128GB storage, Wi-Fi only). At the same time, the price of the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model (Wi-Fi only) has been fixed at GBP 219 (approximately Rs 25,000). The 4GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variants with 4G connectivity are priced at GBP 219 (approximately Rs 25,535) and GBP 259 (approximately Rs 30,000) respectively. It is available in Graphite Gray and Mint Green color options. The company has said that the Redmi Pad 2 will be launched in India on June 18.

Redmi Pad 2 runs on Android 15-based HyperOS 2. It has an 11-inch (1,600×2,560 pixels) display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 274ppi pixel density, and 500 nits peak brightness. The display has an aspect ratio of 16:10 and offers a 360Hz touch sampling rate. The tablet is powered by a 6nm MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra processor, up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The built-in storage can be expanded up to 2TB with a microSD card slot.

The Redmi Pad 2 has an 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture for photos and videos. It features a 5-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture lens. It supports Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB Type-C port in terms of connectivity options. It features a quad-speaker setup with support for Dolby Atmos. Onboard are an accelerometer, a hall sensor, and a virtual ambient light sensor.

The Redmi Pad 2 is compatible with the separately sold Redmi Smart Pen, which supports a 60Hz refresh rate with it. The Redmi Pad 2 has a 9,000mAh battery, which supports 18W fast charging. The company claims that it gives up to 234 hours of music playback and up to 86 days of standby time on a single charge. It measures 254.58×166.04×7.36mm and weighs 510 grams.
