Petition claiming Shiva temple in Ajmer Dargah accepted, evidence of this book given; Notice issued to 3 parties
Ajmer Dargah Temple Case: A Hearing was held on Wednesday in the case of claiming the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti located in Ajmer, Rajasthan as the temple of Sankatmochan Mahadev.
It is claimed that there is situated Sankat Mochan Mahadev Temple within the world-famous Dargah of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer district in Rajasthan. A hearing happened on this matter in today's Ajmer Civil Court West. The petition claiming to have a temple in Dargah has been allowed. Hindu Sena president Vishnu Gupta has made such a demand.
On Wednesday, Ajmer Civil Court West, while hearing the petition claiming a temple in the dargah, said that notices will be issued to the people related to it. The court has also asked the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Dargah Committee Ajmer, and Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to present their side by giving notice. The court will hold the next hearing in this case on December 20.
In fact, a fresh controversy has cropped up before the annual Urs festival which is to start at the Dargah of Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer. Hindu Seva claims that there lies an ancient Shiva temple in the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. To support the above contention, a book published in 1911 has also been produced as evidence in the Ajmer court (Harvilas Sharda's book written in 1911 - Ajmer: Historical and Descriptive). The court heard the case today.
In this petition, Hindu Sena has demanded a survey here and the removal of the alleged illegal encroachment of Ajmer Dargah Trust. On this petition, civil judge Manmohan Chandel of Ajmer West had accepted it for hearing and on it said that a decision about would be given today.
