After facing humiliation from the Indian team in the Asia Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) became furious. On Monday, the PCB suspended its International Cricket Director (ICC) Usman Wahala after the handshake controversy during the match against India in the Asia Cup 2025.

The PCB has taken this big decision after being humiliated by the Indian team in the Asia Cup. Wahala was removed from his post due to the delay in issuing a formal response to the conduct of the match referee and India's action. The board was unhappy with the delay in protesting after several hours.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has cited his failure to handle the situation during the high-voltage Asia Cup match between Pakistan and India in Dubai. The PCB has sent a letter to the ICC and Marylebone Cricket Club calling for the dismissal of match referee Andy Pycroft from the current tournament. The board has threatened to rethink Pakistan's participation in the Asia Cup if he is not replaced.

The PCB accused Pycroft of neglecting the spirit of the game during the India-Pakistan match. The board said that it had repeatedly stressed the importance of maintaining the spirit of the game, but the referee failed to perform his duties. The letter also alleged that Pycroft violated the ICC Code of Conduct and acted against the rules of the MCC.

India defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in the sixth match of the Asia Cup 2025 on Sunday. After the match, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dubey went straight to the dressing room. Indian players did not shake hands with Pakistani players. Even during the toss, Sky did not shake hands with Salman Aga. Since then, Pakistan is furious. Pakistan's head coach Mike Hesson strongly criticized this behavior and called it against the spirit of the game.
