Noida’s ‘0001’ VIP Number Sold for Record ₹27.5 Lakh in Online Auction
VIP Number: From fancy cars to high-profile individuals, the spotlight in Noida has now shifted to a vehicle registration number that has broken all records.
This time, the spotlight is not on a luxury car or a high-profile personality but on a vehicle number plate that has created history. In an online auction, a private company bought the VIP registration number 'UP16FH 0001' for a whopping amount of ₹27.50 lakh. This is the highest bid ever for any VIP number in the Gautam Buddha Nagar-Noida RTO division.
RTO officials said the number '0001' was considered a symbol of prestige and social recognition for vehicle owners. This is a number that is most sought after by businessmen and influential persons in cities like Noida, Gurugram, Mumbai, and Delhi.
VIP numbers, such as 0001, 0007, 7777, and 9999, are always in demand. Many vehicle owners are willing to spend lakhs of rupees to establish these numbers as their personal brand identity.
The Gautam Buddha Nagar RTO began auctioning the new UP16FH series for private vehicles. As soon as the bidding for the '0001' number began, competition became fierce, with many bidders expressing interest.

The continuous bidding finally settled at ₹27,50,000. The number was won by M/s Aviorion Private Limited.
As part of the process, the company first deposited a security deposit of ₹33,333 and then deposited the remaining ₹27,16,667 online within the stipulated time. With this, the VIP number was officially registered in their name.
The Transport Department confirmed that this bid is the highest bid ever recorded for the 0001 number.
RTO officials cited this successful auction as a testament to the department's digital transparency. The entire auction process was conducted online, without any human intervention, and with equal opportunities for all participants.
According to officials, the increasing demand for VIP numbers also reflects the city's economically strong and rapidly growing vehicle market.
Although the department has not officially disclosed which vehicle will be used for this number, it is believed to be for a new luxury car. Given the high price, it is estimated that the vehicle will be worth crores and could be one of the high-end brands such as Mercedes, BMW, Range Rover, Land Cruiser, or Audi.
