World's largest temple being built in Bengal

The construction of the world's largest temple is now in its final stages. The temple work is going on since 2009 at the ISKCON headquarters in Mayapur, located in the Nadia district of West Bengal. The 700-acre (2.8 million square metres) complex will be the largest temple in the world. The title of largest temple to date is near Angkor Wat in Cambodia, which is spread over 1.6 million square meters.
The inauguration of the temple being built in Mayapur was proposed on Holi of 2023. But due to the delay in construction due to Corona, it is now possible till 2024. The size of the temple can be gauged from the fact that its foundation is 100 feet. That is, equivalent to a ten-storey building on the ground.
After the completion of the construction of the temple, ten thousand people will be able to have the darshan of Lord Krishna simultaneously. This time Janmashtami will be celebrated with pomp here on the 19th of August. A tableau will be taken out on the campus. More than one lakh devotees will attend it.
ISKCON founder Prabhupada bought three acres of land in Mayapur in 1971. Bhoomi Pujan took place in 1972 and the construction of the temple started in 2009. The initial budget for the construction of the temple was Rs 600 crore, but due to Corona and after that, the budget reached 1000 crore rupees. Alfred Ford, an owner of car maker Ford, has donated Rs 300 crore.
It will also be the largest Vedic temple in the world, where only God will reside. Three huge peaks have been built here. The main peak is that of Radha-Krishna and the eastern peak is Narasimha Deva. There will be a natural arrangement from light to air. 14 lifts have been installed in the 350 feet high temple. Usually, planets and constellations are shown in the planetarium, but in the planetarium being built in Sri Mayapur Chandrodaya Mandir, there will be a virtual darshan of all the people. The Sudarshan Chakra installed here is 20 feet. The Kalash is 40 feet high. The tiles installed in this temple have come from Dholpur in Rajasthan as well as Vietnam, France, and South America.
