Today, if ISRO is being praised for the Chandrayaan-3 mission, then behind it is the contribution of the soil of Namakkal district, which is 400 kilometers away from Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu.

Since 2012, ISRO has been using the soil present in Namakkal to test the capabilities of the Chandrayaan mission. The land of this district resembles the surface of the moon. ISRO uses the soil here to test the capabilities of its lander module. According to information, this is the third time ISRO scientists have used Namakkal soil for testing.

Anbazhagan, Director, Department of Geology, Periyar University. Talking to news agency PTI, he said, the soil here is similar to the soil present on the south pole of the moon. 'Anorthosite' soil is present on the surface of the moon. This type of soil is found in this area.
