Police in Delhi was attacked by a mob of people of African origin on Saturday. These people were angry with the arrest of their 3 companions. More than 100 people surrounded the police team and started fighting. Taking advantage of this, 3 accused ran away.
According to reports, the narcotics team of Delhi Police went to Raju Park in Neb Sarai to nab foreigners who were living in India despite having expired visas. Police caught 3 Nigerian citizens at 2:30 pm on Saturday. Meanwhile, a crowd of more than 100 people of African origin surrounded the police team and started fighting. The arrested accused fled taking advantage of the quarrel. However, one of the accused, Philip (22), was recaptured by the police.
After this incident, a joint team again went to Raju Park at 6:30 pm on Saturday. From here the team caught 4 Nigerian citizens. A woman was also included in these. After this again the crowd of Africans surrounded the police. This time their number was between 150-200. These people tried to help the accused escape, but this time the police team was alert. The team handled the situation and brought the accused to Neb Sarai Police Station. The process of their deportation has started.
