Land Rover Discovery completes 35 years, company introduces limited edition on special occasion

Land Rover is celebrating the completion of 35 years of its Discovery SUV. On this special occasion, the company has launched a special edition of the Discovery; only limited units will be available.

The 35th edition will see the Discovery equipped with a new and more powerful diesel-hybrid D350 powertrain, aimed to replace the current available D300. In the Anniversary Edition would be additional new powertrains with improvements in comfort and some cosmetic upgrades that will really differentiate this car from the rest of the lineup and give it a touch of exclusivity.

The Land Rover Discovery is now in its fifth generation since it was first introduced in 1989. Land Rover basically took the same chassis, suspension, and four-wheel drive system as the then more upmarket Range Rover and placed a price tag slightly lower than that of RR.

There's also a 345 bhp diesel-hybrid. Land Rover Discovery is going to be fitted with an all-new diesel-hybrid D350 powertrain. The 3.0-litre Ingenium six-cylinder diesel comes teamed with 48V mild hybrid technology, and the whole unit comes paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. With the aid of this new powertrain, the Discovery does 0-100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds, claimed Land Rover.
