Karnataka, Gujarat top in adopting clean energy, this truth of UP and Bihar came to light

Karnataka and Gujarat have been at the top in terms of the adoption of clean energy in the country, this has been claimed in a joint report of IEEFA and AMBER. The report states that states like Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh need to increase their efforts in adopting clean energy.

This was said on Tuesday in a joint report by the research organization Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) and the clean energy think tank, Amber. The authors of the report said Karnataka and Gujarat continued their strong performance across all dimensions. These states have effectively added renewable energy sources to their power sectors, making strong progress in reducing carbon emissions.

However, there is room for improvement in states like West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Bihar. At the time of this report's release, severe heat waves are occurring in certain regions of India. Because of this, the Power Ministry is getting ready for a potential 260 GW maximum power demand.

More clean energy, like solar energy, is made possible by the harsh summer weather. The peak power demand in India is rising annually, according to Vibhuti Garg, Director of IEEFA for South Asia and a contributing author of the report. This is because of cyclical weather patterns and brisk economic activity. States must be ready to match the central government's efforts to expand the amount of renewable energy added to the grid.

He said that now there is a need to continuously monitor many parameters at the state level. Aditya Lola, Amber's Asia program director and contributing author to the report, said some states are promoting decentralized renewable energy planning, solar pumps for agricultural needs and storage solutions to add more renewable energy to their power systems. Progressive steps have been taken like increasing.
