In an effort to return to form before the ODI World Cup starts in India next month, England batsman Joe Root will play in the first ODI against Ireland here on Wednesday.
The 13-man squad that England had earlier selected under Jack Crowley against Ireland did not include any player from the team selected for the World Cup, but Root expressed his desire to play in the first ODI, after which he was replaced by Harry Brook. Place included in the team.
