IPL 2024: Delhi Capitals co-owner gave a big update about Rishabh Pant, said- 'He has been there since the first match...'

Star wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant will captain the Delhi Capitals in the 2024 Indian Premier League, but he won't take wickets in the first half of the seven games, according to co-owner Parth Jindal.

Rishabh Pant has begun to practise wicketkeeping and is actively taking part in batting and running sessions, according to Parth. In an interview with ESPNcricinfo, Parth Jindal provided a significant update regarding Pant.

Parth Jindal said, "Rishabh Pant is batting. He is running. He has started wicketkeeping. He is expected to be fully fit by the IPL. I am hopeful that Pant will play in the IPL and will captain the team from the first match. First seven We will play him as a batsman in the matches to know how his body is reacting. We will then decide for the rest of the IPL."

After a serious car accident in December 2022, Rishabh Pant has significantly improved. The teenage wicketkeeper-batsman participated in a few Aloor practice matches and posted videos of them on Instagram. The Delhi Capitals may benefit greatly from Rishabh Pant's return.

Anrich Nortje, a fast bowler for South Africa, has missed a lot of cricket action because of a back ailment. The Proteas fast bowlers are prepared for their first game, according to Parth Jindal. Since joining the Delhi Capitals in 2020, Nortje has emerged as one of the team's most important players.

The right-arm fast bowler took 53 wickets for Delhi Capitals, out of which 22 were in the 2020 season alone. Parth Jindal said, “Anrich Nortje is fit. He is bowling with 80 per cent energy. He will be completely fit by next week. He will return to IPL. He will join our camp and will be ready to play the first match.
