America will teach a lesson to Pakistan with the new bill

Another trouble has come on the head of Pakistan which is facing an economic and political crisis. A bill has been introduced in the US Parliament to withdraw the non-NATO alliance status (non-NATO ally) given to Pakistan. With the passage of this bill, Pakistan will be deprived of the status of 'Major Non-NATO Ally' from the US. The facilities available under this status will also stop. America gives this status to those countries which are not included in NATO but are close allies of America. Under this, financial and military help is given to these countries every year.
The bill was introduced in the House of Representatives on January 9 by Andy Biggs. He represents Arizona's fifth district. In the bill, he has made serious allegations against Pakistan for providing shelter and help to terrorists. Now the Foreign Affairs Committee is considering this bill. If this bill is passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate and President Joe Biden signs it, then the status accorded to Pakistan will be taken away.
Pakistan has many advantages by getting the status of a Major Non-NATO ally. It receives military equipment, loans for construction, supplies and equipment for research, development and testing from the US. Taking away this status will not only cause economic losses to Pakistan but will also have to face embarrassment.
Major non-NATO ally status was introduced in 1987. People who get this status from America get economic and military benefits. Presently America has given this status to 17 countries. It also includes Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, Brazil, Japan and Israel. The name of India is not included in this list. Pakistan was given this status in 2004.
Till last year, Afghanistan was also a part of this list, but after the Taliban's occupation, America withdrew from this status.
