GST Department Slaps ₹3.69 Crore Tax Demand on Zomato Parent Eternal
Eternal: Eternal, the parent company of Zomato and Blinkit, has received a GST demand order of Rs 3.69 crore for the period April 2019-March 2020. The company has stated that its case is strong and it will appeal the order.
Eternal, the parent company of Zomato and Blinkit, has received a Goods and Services Tax (GST) demand order. The order, including interest and penalties, amounts to Rs 3,69,80,242 and pertains to the period April 2019 to March 2020.
The company stated in a regulatory filing late Tuesday that the order was passed by the Additional Commissioner of State Taxes (Appeals) in West Bengal. The demand relates to alleged underpayment of output tax, interest, and penalties.
According to Eternal, it received this order on January 6, 2026, confirming the GST amount of ₹1,92,43,792, along with interest of ₹1,58,12,070 and a penalty of ₹19,24,380.
