The Chennai house where Google CEO Sundar Pichai spent his childhood has now been sold. Pichai's parents have demolished the old house and sold the land to Tamil actor and producer C Manikandan. Born in Madurai, Tamil Nadu to Lakshmi and Raghunath Pichai, Sundar Pichai spent his entire childhood in Chennai. Pichai received his education here before taking admitted to IIT-Kharagpur.
Sundar lived in this house till the age of 20. He now lives in America. For how much money this house was sold, its information has not been revealed yet. Speaking to The Hindu Business Line, Manikandan said, “I am a real estate developer myself. I have built and delivered around 300 houses. Sundar Pichai has made our country proud. It is a proud moment of my life to buy the house where he lives.
Sharing his experience, Manikandan, the new owner of the property, said that Pichai's father became very emotional when he was handing over the property documents as it was his first property. Pichai's father waited patiently for hours at the registration office to complete the paperwork, Manikandan said. The transaction process took about four months to complete, as Pichai's father was living in the US at the time.
Manikandan told that when the talks were going on to buy this house, Sundar's mother made personal filter coffee for me. While his father showed the documents during the initial meeting. Pichai last came to Chennai in October 2021. On his way to the airport, he reached Vani School to relive his childhood memories.
Sundar Pichai is the CEO of Alphabet Inc along with Google. In 2015, Pichai was appointed CEO of Google and in 2019 he also became the CEO of Alphabet Inc. Now he lives in California. Here he has a luxurious mansion. Perched on a hilltop in Santa Clara County, California, the property is spread over 31.17 acres of land.
