The second game of the two-match Test series between India and South Africa is continuing in Guwahati's Barsapara Cricket Stadium. South Africa bowled India out for 201 runs after putting up 489 runs in the first innings. By the end of the third day's play, the visiting team had scored 26 runs without losing a wicket in the second innings. In this way, South Africa's total lead has reached 314 runs. Thus, the Indian Test team under Rishabh Pant is facing a difficult situation.

Meanwhile, a viral post doing the rounds on social media states that Gautam Gambhir, head coach of the Indian cricket team, has resigned. Now, the question arises: Has Gautam Gambhir resigned as the head coach of Team India? Indeed, according to a viral post on the social media platform 'X', he has resigned from the position of coach.

This social media post, featuring Gautam Gambhir's photo, reads, "I am officially resigning as coach today. I will not be involved in the cricket world in any capacity in the future. To be honest, I am tired of the constant criticism and trolling. I gave this game my all. But the atmosphere around me, especially online, clearly indicates that my time is up. I am leaving this position with my head held high. Best wishes to Indian cricket for the future. May you continue to succeed. Thank you for the memories."

The viral post regarding Gautam Gambhir's resignation as head coach of the Indian team was not posted from the official 'X' handle. Gautam Gambhir's official X handle is @GautamGambhir, while the viral post is from @imRavY_. It is clear that the viral post is fake. The name in the viral post is also misspelled (Gaotam Gambhir). While the viral post has a blue tick on its account, it has been labeled fake by 'X'. Furthermore, there has been no news from the Board of Control for Cricket in India or any credible source regarding Gautam Gambhir's resignation. The timing of the claim, during the ongoing second Test match between India and South Africa in Guwahati, is also suspicious.
