England revealed their 11-strong team for the first ODI against West Indies to be staged at Edgbaston, Birmingham on May 29. The team will be under the captaincy of newly-named white-ball captain Harry Brook, and leg-spinner Adil Rashid will make his 150th one-day international outing. All-rounder Jacob Bethell, who starred against Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2025, is back in the international team.

All-around player Brydon Carse returns to the squad following a foot injury. He will be one of the fast bowlers alongside Jamie Overton and Saqib Mahmood. Jofra Archer and Gus Atkinson are out of the series as a result of injuries. The England national cricket team will host the first match of the series against the visiting West Indies team on 29 May in Birmingham, the second match on 1 June in Cardiff, and the third match on 3 June at The Oval.

A total of 108 ODI matches have been played between England and the West Indies so far. In these matches, the England cricket team has had the upper hand. While England has won 54 ODI matches against the West Indies, it has faced defeat in 48 matches, although six matches between the two teams were also inconclusive.
