Cartridges Found at Red Fort Blast Site Not From Police; Civilian Use Prohibited
Delhi Car Blast Case: Police have recovered three 9mm cartridges from the scene of a car blast in Delhi. They are now searching for the pistol used to fire them. Given the seriousness of the case, the police team is conducting a thorough investigation.
The investigation into the car blast at the Red Fort is ongoing. The Delhi Police, during the investigation, recovered three 9mm cartridges from the spot, including two live and one empty. The pistol used to fire them has not been found as yet.
According to a report by The Times of India, police sources claimed that after the cartridges were found, the cartridges of the police staff present at the scene were also checked, but none were found to be missing. This has ruled out the possibility that these cartridges belonged to personnel on duty.
Surprisingly, the cartridge recovered is prohibited for civilian use. It cannot be used with licensed guns. It is typically used by armed forces or those with special permission.
During the investigation, no pistol or any part of it was recovered from the scene. While cartridges were found, the weapon used to fire them was not. This presents a new challenge for the Delhi Police. The police are now trying to determine how these cartridges arrived.
