Narendra Modi Celebrates 3 Million Rooftop Solar Installations Under Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday termed the achievement of installing rooftop solar systems in 30 lakh homes in the country as an important milestone in India’s journey towards clean energy. He said that this is not just a scheme, but a strong step towards energy self-sufficiency. The Prime Minister congratulated the beneficiaries of this scheme and termed it a mass movement on savings, sustainability, and self-reliance.
The Prime Minister announced through social media that the families who have availed themselves of the rooftop solar schemes have not only reduced their expenditure on electricity but have also contributed to the development of a green energy future. He stated that this is a part of the government’s vision of a future where the country is energy-secure, environmentally-friendly, and future-ready.
Union Minister Prahlad Joshi informed that 3 million homes have been installed with solar panels so far under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana. He described this as a historic achievement. Joshi stated that this initiative is an example of harnessing sunlight for savings and sustainable development. This is reducing electricity bills and strengthening energy security.
