Before the T20 World Cup, Pakistan is on tour to Ireland and a five-match T20 series is being played between the two countries. In the first match played at Castle Avenue Cricket Ground in Dublin, Ireland defeated Pakistan by five wickets.

Batting first, Pakistan scored 182 runs losing six wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Ireland achieved this target by losing five wickets in 19.5 overs. Batting for Pakistan, Sam Ayub scored 45 runs in 29 balls, which included four fours and three sixes. Captain Babar Azam also scored a half-century and scored 57 runs in 43 balls.
