India partially resumed flights today that were suspended under the "safety pause" taken following the disastrous accident in Ahmedabad on June 12. Airlines stated that some flights will resume from August 1, while full operations will resume from October 1.

Air India said in its statement that this pause will enable Air India to carry out additional precautionary checks of its Boeing 787 aircraft and also accommodate longer flight durations due to the closure of airspace over Pakistan and the Middle East.

The statement further said that partial restoration will see the resumption of some flights from August 1 as compared to July, and full restoration is planned from October 1, 2025.

Air India on Tuesday said it will operate three weekly flights from Ahmedabad to London Heathrow from August 1 to September 30, replacing London Gatwick. The airline currently operates five weekly flights on the Ahmedabad-London Gatwick route.
