Woman struggled with stomach pain for three months after her delivery; After examination shocking revelations were made
Rajasthan: A major negligence of doctors has come to light in Rajasthan, where due to a huge mistake, a woman had to go through unbearable stomach pain for three months. After giving birth to a child under a cesarean operation, the stomach pain of the woman did not end. After getting treatment in many hospitals, the real reason was finally found in Jodhpur AIIMS.
Due to a major negligence of government hospital doctors, a towel was left in the stomach of a woman during a cesarean delivery in Rajasthan. After delivery, the woman suffered from unbearable pain in the stomach for three months. After this, during treatment at Jodhpur AIIMS, it was found that there was a piece of towel in her stomach.
According to the information, a woman had undergone a cesarean operation about three months ago in a government hospital in Kuchaman in the Didwana-Kuchaman district. During the operation, a towel was inadvertently left in her stomach. Even after the stitches were healed, the woman was having persistent pain in her stomach and doctors were unable to find the cause.
The relatives got the woman treated in various hospitals from Makrana to Ajmer, but no one was able to diagnose the problem. Doctors in Ajmer suspected a lump in her stomach after the CT scan. Unsatisfied with this diagnosis, her family brought her to Jodhpur AIIMS for further investigation.
Doctors examined her and found that a small surgical towel was stuck in the stomach. Surgery was performed immediately in order to remove it. While the towel was removed, the woman had already suffered due to this incident.
After getting information about this, the entire medical team in the Didwana district went into a tizzy. In order to investigate the incident, an examination was sent by removing a piece of towel from the woman's stomach. However, such medical negligence has raised a big question.
The family of the woman has moved Rajasthan High Court on the issue and contended that due to prolonged pain, the woman was unable to breastfeed the newborn. Because of this reason, since birth, the child has been fed formula milk and this has raised apprehension about his possible malnutrition. Meanwhile, after the matter came to light, Didwana's Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. Anil Judiya constituted a three-member committee to investigate the matter. The committee is expected to submit its report soon.
