VinFast, an electric vehicle brand from Vietnam, is gearing up for an entry into India. The company is set to launch three electric models in India this year and is planning to double its number of sales and service networks there. VinFast's strategy is not restricted to launching models; rather, it is working towards enhancing the electric ecosystem, charging solutions, and all-electric ride-hailing services too. The company is of the view that consumer confidence will surge once electric vehicles are more immersed in people's lives.

According to the CEO of the company, Tapan Ghosh, the new products of VinFast are designed not only on paper parameters but also keeping in mind the usage patterns and the value for money that customers can expect. The company is targeting Indian customers who are budget-conscious yet do not want to compromise on quality.

VinFast will begin its new launches with a 7-seater electric MPV. This will be a premium yet practical EV. It's designed for both family and commercial use, while also taking into account fleet and shared mobility. According to Tapan Ghosh, this demonstrates that VinFast views EVs in India not just as personal vehicles, but as shared and fleet-based solutions. The company's focus is not on chasing trends, but on focusing on the fundamental pillars of safety, reliability, and long-term value that underpin any brand's longevity.

The company commenced local production in Tamil Nadu last year. To date, the company has launched the VF 6 and VF 7, two electric SUVs in India, establishing its presence in the premium EV segment. VinFast has established 35 showrooms in major cities across the country by the end of 2025. The company aims to have 75 showrooms by 2026. After expanding into metro, tier-1, and tier-2 cities, it will also expand into tier-3 and tier-4 cities. Strengthening its showroom network in major cities is also on the company's agenda.

VinFast doesn't want to limit itself to selling cars. According to Tapan Ghosh, when people see EVs in widespread everyday use, hesitation diminishes. Those who use EVs daily become their strongest ambassadors. This strategy is considered beneficial not only for the company's customers but also for the Indian EV market as a whole.
