Veteran Supreme Court lawyer Fali S Nariman is no more, breathed his last at the age of 95

One of the top solicitors in India, Fali S. Nariman, passed away. Today, February 21, he passed away at the age of 95.

Fali Nariman represented numerous historic cases, such as the well-known National Judicial Appointments Commission case that the Supreme Court ultimately overturned.
Born on January 10, 1929, Nariman served as Additional Solicitor General between 1972 and 1975. He resigned from this post during the Emergency. Fali Nariman received the Padma Bhushan in January 1991 and was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 2007. His son, Rohinton Nariman, was a Supreme Court judge.
Condoling his death, Supreme Court lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi wrote on X, "He was a living legend, who will always be remembered by those associated with law and public life. Apart from his achievements, he remained steadfast in his principles."
