Bronze utensils from Sri Padmanabha Swamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala are stolen. In this case, 4 people from Haryana were arrested. In the local language, these traditional utensils are known as Uruli. These Uruli were used to worship in earlier times and were kept in secret cellars.

According to the police, the accused have been identified with the help of Haryana Police and taken into custody. However, much detail was not shared by the police in this case. "One of the accused is a doctor and has Australian citizenship," a senior police officer said, adding that he, along with a group of two or three women, visited the temple last week. The incident of theft at the temple occurred on Thursday.

The temple managers informed the police when the 'barantan' went missing from the temple. The police traced the accused with the help of CCTV. Sources said that the accused was traced later in Haryana with the help of local police and later taken into custody by the police. The accused are all likely to be brought to Thiruvananthapuram today. The police guard this temple around the clock. The theft in the temple, being the most secure one, sent shock waves amongst the security personnel.
