Union Minister Shekhawat approved new rail line between Ramdevra-Pokhran, travel to Jaisalmer will be easy

The planned new rail route from Ramdevra to Pokhran through Bhairav Gufa and Kailash Tekri has been approved by the Railway Ministry, said Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. This rail project is going to be of immense relief for those passengers traveling to Jaisalmer.

Shekhawat said that this new line will be fully electrified and with its commissioning, the rail journey from Jodhpur and Bikaner to Jaisalmer will be reduced by about 45 minutes. The special thing will be that the shunting of the train will no longer be done while the passengers are on board, which will save time in the journey. Expressing gratitude to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, he said that given the special geographical conditions of Pokhran, a special plan of embankment and cutting will be prepared on this route. Shekhawat described this project as an important gift for the passengers of the region under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and congratulated all the railway passengers.

The Union Minister also informed that the construction of a 2-lane elevated structure with paved shoulder on the Raipur-Jassa Kheda section (length 7.95 km, Package-2) of National Highway-458 in Rajasthan has also been approved. This project will cost Rs 394.03 crore. This information has been given by Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.

According to Shekhawat, this road begins from Ladnun from the NH-58 junction and heads to Jassa Kheda through Khatu, Degana, Merta City, Lambia, Jaitaran, and Raipur. Currently, all traffic to Bhilwara and Chittorgarh takes the Beawar route, but with the development of this section, this road will be reduced by 38 km and most of the traffic will take this new route.

Shekhawat said that the development of this section will improve the connectivity of Bar and Pipaliya Kalan industrial parks with industrial areas like Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, and Bhim. Under the project, it is proposed to build an elevated structure on the part passing through Todgarh-Raoli Wildlife Sanctuary (which is in principle a proposed tiger reserve). He said that in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, these projects will give new impetus to regional development. For this, he thanked Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
