Instagram introduces "Channels" feature for one-to-many broadcast-chat tool
Channels will provide a new way for creators to interact with their followers on Instagram, and it is anticipated that the feature will be well-received.
Social media platform Instagram has introduced a new feature called "Channels," which is a one-to-many broadcast-chat tool that allows creators to update their followers without receiving an overwhelming number of responses. Although the feature may seem similar to that of rival Telegram's, Channels will enable followers to participate in polls and use emoji reactions, but they will not be able to post in the channels. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled the new feature and stated that it is currently accessible to selected creators on Instagram and will eventually be rolled out to Facebook and Messenger.
Instagram has been criticized previously for copying features from its competitors, including TikTok and BeReal. The frequent changes in product highlights, removal of helpful features, and the addition of unnecessary ones have led to confusion and annoyance among users. Bots are another issue that has plagued the platform, which has caused users to become frustrated with Instagram's ability to combat them.
