Though Chennai Super Kings had lost a few matches initially in IPL 2026, there seemed no chance for them to qualify for the tournament. However, they made a remarkable comeback by registering five consecutive victories and became a part of the playoffs fight. One such player who contributed largely to the achievements is none other than Sanju Samson, with his performance in batting in most of the five victories. The cricketer played a brilliant innings of unbeaten 87 while chasing against Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on Tuesday evening.

When Player of the Match Sanju was asked if he liked the crowd calling him Chetta, he replied, "Yes, they're calling me Chetta, but I like Sanju more." Regarding having so much time to play his shots, he said, "We try to figure out what really works for us, and you try to stick to the basics and trust your hands in this format. I've been trying to do that for the last two or three months. I've been working a little on my opening movement, and it's going well."

Regarding his trigger movement at the crease, Sanju said, "I've been doing that for the last three to five years. I think comfort definitely plays a big role in your mindset and the confidence you need to bat. Then, of course, it's also a tactical move. I try to rotate a little depending on the bowlers and the wicket."
