Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu sealed her place in the final by defeating Thailand's Busanan Ongbamrungphan 13-21, 21-16, 21-12 in the semi-finals of the Malaysia Masters on Saturday, May 25. This is Sindhu's 18th win over Busanan in 19 matches.

In the first game, Busanan led by a small margin after Sindhu misjudged a few backcourt floaters. PV- Busanan rallied to take a two-point lead after Sindhu's flat diagonal return tied the score at four.
