Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu sealed her place in the final by defeating Thailand's Busanan Ongbamrungphan 13-21, 21-16, 21-12 in the semi-finals of the Malaysia Masters on Saturday, May 25. This is Sindhu's 18th win over Busanan in 19 matches.
In the first game, Busanan led by a small margin after Sindhu misjudged a few backcourt floaters. PV- Busanan rallied to take a two-point lead after Sindhu's flat diagonal return tied the score at four.
With a two-point advantage at halftime, the Thai shuttler repelled Sindhu's attack. After the second half of the game, Busanan surprised Sindhu by coming back to the court with unmatched energy. They led by seven points thanks to aggressive play and deft touches.
