Ground of Ahmedabad will be decorated towards the bride, opening ceremony of the World Cup 2023 will be held on this date

The opening ceremony of the upcoming ODI World Cup will be held in Ahmedabad on October 4. The next day, on October 5, the first match of the World Cup will be played between defending champions England and runners-up New Zealand. This grand program can be organized at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Top officials of ICC, BCCI as well as captains of all 10 teams will also be present. According to sources, the opening ceremony will be brief but glitzy. In the inauguration ceremony, a program will be organized according to Indian culture and civilization. The ICC will also hold a formal briefing session for all 10 captains ahead of the event, known as 'Captain's Day'. All the captains will reach Ahmedabad on October 4 in the morning.

A day before the opening ceremony, 6 of the 10 competing teams have to take part in practice matches. In these matches, India will face the Netherlands. While the Australian team will face Pakistan and Sri Lanka will face Afghanistan.

In 2011 when India and Bangladesh hosted the World Cup, the opening ceremony was held in Dhaka. All the captains were then brought on rickshaws to the ground, giving the event a touch of vibrant symbolism. Now the opening ceremony to be held in Ahmedabad on October 4 will see a similar mix of color, tradition, and vibrancy, the details of which are being kept under wraps.
