Adam Gilchrist on Rishabh Pant, DC vs LSG, IPL 2024: Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant was seen arguing with the on-field umpire. Former Australian wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist has become angry with Pant's actions and has asked for a fine on him.
The 26th match of the 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was played between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Delhi Capitals (DC). In this match played at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, the Delhi team registered its second win of this season. But something happened during this match which has created a new controversy.
During the Lucknow Super Giants' batting innings, there was a dispute about DRS. At this point, the on-field umpire and captain of the Delhi Capitals, Rishabh Pant, were seen arguing. A fine has been requested for Pant by his former Australian wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist, who is upset with Pant's behaviour. Gilchrist says that instead of arguing with the player in such a situation, the umpires should continue the play.
Actually, Ishant Sharma gave Devdutt Padikkal an outstanding ball in the fourth over of Lucknow's batting innings. Near the pad, the ball passed. The referee dismissed Delhi's appeal. Pant challenged this decision and took a review. But in the replays, it was seen that the ball did not hit any part of Padikkal's leg. In such a situation it was called a wide ball.
