Regarding Ross Adair, Cricket Ireland's Head of Medical Services and Physiotherapy, Mark Rossa, said, "It's unfortunate for him. He experienced knee pain shortly before departure. As a precaution, we had a scan performed, which revealed a strain in his knee. The decision has been made to exclude Adair from the T20 International series against Bangladesh, considering his recovery from the injury and his potential participation in the T20 World Cup in February." It's worth noting that Ross Adair scored a century off 58 balls in a T20I against South Africa late last year.
Meanwhile, Ireland's chief selector, Andrew White, said, "It's very unfortunate for Ross Adair to be excluded from the Bangladesh T20 International series. He has proven his worth in every opportunity he has received in 2025. We were very keen to see his performance against Bangladesh."
He said, "There are some combinations we are keen to explore for next year's T20 World Cup. Jordan Neil will remain part of the T20 International squad. We have players who have shown in the past that they are capable of batting at the top of the order. This allows us to create more flexibility in our batting line-up. Ben Calitz will provide that variety in the middle order. This tour gives us a much-needed opportunity to see how various players adapt to different conditions and situations."
