Talking about the toss in the first seven matches of the ODI World Cup between India and Pakistan, the Men in Blue are leading by 5-2. The match was played for the first time between the two teams in the 1992 World Cup, where India won the toss and decided to bat first.

The Indian team also won the toss in 1996 and 1999 and gave arch-rival Pakistan a chance to bat. Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first in the 2003 World Cup. Again in 2011, India won the toss and decided to bat. In the 2015 World Cup, India won the toss and decided to bat.

In 2019, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first. This time India definitely won the toss but decided to bowl instead of batting. The Indian captain said at the time of the toss that not much change was expected in the pitch, but dew may play a role in the evening.

Rohit Sharma said, "This is a good pitch, not much change is expected." Dew can play a big role and keeping this in mind we want to bowl first.'' Pakistan captain Babar Azam said that we too would have liked to bowl first.

The Pakistan captain also said, "We registered two good victories." The momentum is in our favor and we would like to continue that. The stadium is full of spectators. We are enjoying every opportunity and just want to have fun. We have to perform well on the field. Our practice session has been good.
