Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam on Monday addressed the 'Priming Asia for Good' program at the Philanthropy Asia Summit 2025. This conference is being organized in Singapore from 5 to 7 May. In his address, the President of Singapore said that it is also necessary to get the support of the organization for innovation. For example, if you look at India, a program is run there, which is the Aspirational Districts Program. Under this, backward districts are being empowered.

He said that it was started in the year 2018 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This scheme aims to transform 112 very backward districts of India. Gates Foundation, Piramal Foundation and Tata Trust are also providing funding in this scheme. Shanmugaratnam said that under the scheme, communities are being given ownership of community health workers, para nurses and data systems etc. They get help from the central government. Remarkable work is being done especially regarding maternal health and children's health.
