As it is with social media or gaming applications, people are now becoming addicted to ChatGPT as well. According to OpenAI, people are spending hours chatting on ChatGPT, which is increasing their screen time and affecting their mental health. OpenAI has now launched a feature that will remind the user to take a break during long chats.

According to OpenAI, this will help maintain a healthy and balanced relationship between users and artificial intelligence (AI). The company says that this feature has been designed to improve user experience as well as mental health.

The new reminder feature will come in the form of a gentle notification. During chatting, users will see a pop-up message saying, "Just checking in, is it a good time to take a break?"

They can either keep talking at that hour or step away for a little while if needed. It is a bit like games such as Nintendo, where the users are told to stop after lengthy use so they can give themselves attention.

OpenAI has made this change following reports that ChatGPT's responses sometimes agree too much or provide inaccurate information. With this change, the new break reminder feature will also serve to keep the user and the AI in balance, keeping the conversation more pragmatic and responsible.
