During a recent AMA session, the head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, was questioned about one of the recent changes that had been in place on the social network, which many people did not even know it was. At the time, Mosseri added that Instagram has also removed a feature called "rug pull.". Since it was a feature of the user interface (UI), the feeds would get refreshed automatically if the app was opened.
According to Mosseri, this feature was because the app was trying to load new content and in the meantime was showing previously downloaded posts and videos. Although the feature was intended to increase user engagement, the company official also admitted that it was "annoying" because any interesting content that was previously visible on the screen suddenly disappeared.
