There has been continuous heavy rain in Sikkim due to a cloud burst last night. Due to this the water level of the Teesta River suddenly increased and a flood-like situation occurred. Many people and vehicles have been washed away in the sudden flood. The NDRF team has rescued 7 people trapped in the flood. While 23 army personnel are still missing. Giving information, NDRF said, “National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rescued 7 people from Singtam in Sikkim, where a cloud burst had created a flood-like situation. One team of NDRF is deployed in Gangtok and two teams are deployed in areas adjacent to Sikkim in West Bengal.”

A warning of heavy rain has been issued in West Bengal.
