The Indian Army is constantly strengthening its fleet. Due to this, discussions have started once again between India and France regarding Rafale. It is being told that talks are going on between the governments of the two countries regarding the deal of 26 Rafale marine fighter aircraft. During this, the price and other related issues are being discussed.

Earlier, a meeting was to be held between India and France on May 30 for the purchase of Rafale. However, due to the Lok Sabha elections, it was postponed till the second week of June.

Defense sources said that a delegation from France has come to New Delhi. It includes officials of their Directorate General of Armaments, who are monitoring the ongoing Rafale deal with India. He informed that the Indian side is being represented in the talks between these two countries by the officers of the Directorate General of Acquisition under the Ministry of Defense and other military officers from the user side.

Talks are going on to purchase 26 Rafale maritime fighter aircraft for a total cost of more than Rs 50 thousand crores. Currently, the Indian Air Force has 36 Rafales in its fleet. The aircraft will be operated from Indian Navy aircraft carriers, including the INS Vikramaditya and INS Vikrant.
