Emergency landing of ALH Dhruv helicopter in Kerala

ALH is built by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. Apart from the Coast Guards, it is used by the Army, Navy and Air Force.
A test flight of the Indian Coast Guard's Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv Mark III helicopter made an emergency landing near the Cochin International Airport in Kerala on Sunday. At the time when the helicopter landed, it was flying at a height of 25 feet. This incident happened at 12.30 pm.
A major accident was averted by this incident. However, one trainee suffered a hand fracture. ALH has been made by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. Apart from the Coast Guards, it is used by the Army, Navy and Air Force. This is the second incident of a helicopter crash this month.
ALH of the Indian Navy on a regular flight from Mumbai made an emergency landing in the Arabian Sea. The incident took place on March 8 morning when the Navy helicopter was out patrolling. Due to a lack of power and height, the pilot landed the helicopter on water. Technically it is called ditching, that is, an emergency landing on water.
All three crew members were ejected from the helicopter, after which the Navy carried out an immediate search and rescue operation and rescued the three crew members.
Following the incident in Mumbai, ALH helicopters were grounded as a precautionary measure. It was said that till the time the investigators do not know the cause of the helicopter crash, it will remain in place. The Indian Coast Guard is continuously working to remove the blockade.
