CWC Gathers in Hyderabad to Chart Electoral Strategy for Upcoming Polls

The Congress Working Committee (CWC) convened a significant meeting in Hyderabad on Saturday to strategize for the forthcoming Assembly elections in five states and the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. This gathering of the party's highest decision-making body kicked off at the Taj Krishna hotel, commencing with the flag hoisting ceremony led by party president Mallikarjun Kharge, alongside the presence of prominent leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi.

Following the ceremonial start, CWC members engaged in discussions on the agenda, with the meeting commencing after 3 p.m. and expected to continue into the evening. The hotel was infused with a festive spirit as leaders were greeted with traditional dances performed by a group of artists, including Congress MLA Seethakka, who also briefly joined the tribal dancers.

Hyderabad's heart bore witness to a flurry of activity as the top echelons of the party descended upon the hotel for the first-ever CWC meeting in the city. Notably, this marked the first CWC gathering since the 84-member body underwent reconstitution last month, under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge, who assumed the role of party president in October of the preceding year.

The meeting's primary focus is to deliberate and formulate strategies for the impending Assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram. Additionally, it will discuss plans for the 2024 general elections, particularly in light of the formation of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) to collectively challenge the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
