India is taking a major step towards mineral and energy self-sufficiency. The central government is all set to begin the seventh round of mineral auctions in the country from March 23rd. This time, as many as 19 mineral blocks are up for auction in various states of the country. The Indian government has invited bidding companies.

The world is shifting towards clean energy and new technologies. India is geared up to take the opportunity of disrupting the supply chain of the world. The primary objective of holding the auction is to reduce the import of minerals including lithium, graphite, rare earth, tungsten, vanadium, and titanium, as these are required in various products including smartphone batteries.

According to the Ministry of Mines, the government has completed six successful rounds of mineral auctions so far. A total of 46 critical mineral blocks have been sold in these rounds. Continuing this momentum, preparations are underway to lease 19 blocks in the seventh round.

Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy and Minister of State Satish Chandra Dubey will be present during the auction. The ministry believes that the availability of these minerals will not only advance India's technological advancement but also strengthen the country in strategic sectors.
