Now, National Ayurveda Day is going to be observed on September 23. Previously, Ayurveda Day was observed on the day of Dhanteras. The Ministry of AYUSH stated on Tuesday that the Central Government has approved this change through a notification.
Ayurveda is an ancient medical system of India that is five thousand years old, founded upon ancient wisdom and sustainable living.
The ministry stated that Dhanteras is observed in the Kartik month. As there are problems arranging Ayurveda Day due to shifting the date of Dhanteras annually, the decision has been taken to observe National Ayurveda Day on 23 September. Day and night are nearly equal on 23 September.
The cosmic occurrence illustrates the equilibrium inherent in nature, which is in flawless harmony with Ayurvedic doctrine, which focuses on equilibrium among the mind, body, and soul.
The Ministry of AYUSH had announced National Ayurveda Day for the first time in 2016. It was decided to celebrate National Ayurveda Day on Dhanteras, the birth anniversary of Dhanvantari, the god of health. The first Ayurveda Day was celebrated on 28 October 2016.
