NASSCOM Partners with UIDAI to Empower Deeptech Startups under Aadhaar Scheme
Startup: NASSCOM and UIDAI have partnered to promote digital identity innovation. This initiative will help India's deeptech startups develop Aadhaar-based technology solutions and strengthen the country's digital ecosystem.
The Indian IT industry association, NASSCOM, has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). This partnership aims to enable India's deeptech startups to innovate and grow in the digital identity space.
Under this partnership, NASSCOM will support the UIDAI special scheme, SITA: Scheme for Innovation and Technology Associated with Aadhaar. SITA is specifically conceived to encourage open innovation in India and promote homegrown technology solutions, and develop scalable IDTech solutions that can further the development of the entire Aadhaar ecosystem.
Under this partnership, deeptech startups will gain access to UIDAI's incubation sandbox. This will provide startups with the opportunity to test and refine their digital solutions in a real-world policy-linked environment. Through this platform, startups will have the opportunity to pilot their solutions, connect with key stakeholders, and address challenges related to India's digital future.
This initiative will not be limited to technical testing. NASSCOM and UIDAI will also collaborate with academic institutions, organize curated innovation showcases, and structured exchanges. These will help startup founders disseminate their ideas, build credibility, and rapidly scale their businesses.
