Mukesh Ambani Reaffirms Reliance’s Commitment to India’s Energy Transformation

Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Limited, made one such major announcement regarding the future of energy in India and the evolving scenario of 'New India'. During the launch of a book in Mumbai, he shared his views regarding the possibilities of green energy in the country and the hopes of the youth.

Getting ready to meet the challenges of an energy revolution, Mukesh Ambani stated that his country, India, is at the threshold of attaining energy independence. Challenging conventional thinking about solar energy, he said, "...we are very close to solving local energy problems. Solar energy will no longer be used only as a four-hour fuel. We can use solar energy to solve problems that India has long grappled with."

Highlighting future plans, the RIL Chairman said that Reliance will set an example not only for India but for much of the world. He said, "We will show the way how green and clean energy can be made available in abundance and at affordable rates."

Remembering his father and Reliance founder, Dhirubhai Ambani, Mukesh Ambani also explained the company's original purpose. He said, "My father, Dhirubhai, founded Reliance with the sole purpose of improving India's quality of life. India and Indians must progress. That was Reliance's purpose."
