Milk Adulteration: FSSAI shared a method to how to identify real and fake milk

Milk is consumed in extremely massive quantities in India. Since the initial stage, importance is laid upon the formation of the habit of consuming milk in children so that the bones remain healthy and physical growth is achieved. But with the increased adulteration, the people's health is at risk. Earlier only water was added to the milk, which was not so dangerous, but now dangerous chemicals, detergent, urea, and hydrogen peroxide are added to it.

These can be dangerous to health. With this in view, the Food Safety and Standards Authority (FSSAI) has given some easy ways to find adulteration in the milk so that you can check the purity of the milk at home.

The FSSAI has explained how to identify adulteration in milk. If detergent has been added to milk, then to check it, take 5-10 ml of milk and put it in two different containers. Then mix the milk well. If more foam is formed in the milk, then understand that detergent has been mixed in it. Pure milk forms less foam and it disappears immediately.

Maltodextrin is a type of sugar, which is used to thicken the milk. In order to identify whether it is pure or not, mix 2 ml iodine in 5 ml of milk and mix it thoroughly. If the milk becomes light yellow or brown, it is pure. But if the milk becomes chocolate-brown or red-brown, then be aware that maltodextrin can be added to it.
