Very heavy rain warning has been given in 6 districts of Rajasthan today. The Meteorological Department informs that the low-pressure system that formed over the Bay of Bengal has developed and turned into a depression. Its maximum impact will be visible today on Friday. For this reason, there is an alert of rain in the districts of the state today. In these, IMD has issued a red alert of extremely heavy rain in Ajmer, Bhilwara, Bundi, Kota, Tonk, and Pali. Meanwhile, an orange alert of extremely heavy rain has been given in Pratapgarh, Baran, Chittorgarh, Jhalawar, Rajsamand, Sawai Madhopur, Sirohi, Udaipur, and Nagaur.
According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon is most active in eastern Rajasthan today. During the last 24 hours, light to moderate and sometimes heavy rains occurred in many districts, including Pali, Sawai Madhopur, Hanumangarh, Ganganagar, Jodhpur, Karauli, Jhalawar, Baran, Churu, Jhunjhunu, and Dausa. Meanwhile, heavy rains are also causing loss of life and property. 21 people have died in rain-related accidents in the last 4 days. On Thursday, a youth was swept away in a drain in Kota. Many villages in Jhalawar district have become islands.
The highest rainfall of 110MM was recorded in the Pilibanga area of Hanumangarh on Thursday. Bhadra in Hanumangarh itself received 66MM, Goluwala received 44MM, Jaitaran in Pali received 50MM, and Aau near Phalodi received 89MM. 79MM rain was recorded in Atru of Baran, 59MM in Mangrol, 67MM in Jasrasar of Bikaner, 48MM in Bidasar of Churu. Apart from this, 83MM rain was recorded in Nirjharna of Dausa, 49MM in Jhalrapatan of Jhalawar. 48MM rain was recorded in Pachpahar, 75MM in Mandana of Jhunjhunu, 73MM in Kudgaon of Karauli, 43MM in Karauli city, 97MM in Sangod of Kota, 73MM in Kanwas, 50MM in Mandana, 42MM in Devgarh of Rajsamand and 53MM in Baunli of Sawai Madhopur.
