Liton Das to Captain Bangladesh in Ireland T20Is; Taskin, Shamim Left Out

Bangladesh have performed outstandingly in the two-match Test series against Ireland, at home. The hosts have swept Ireland 2-0 in the two-match Test series. After the Test series, both teams are now ready for the three-match T20 series. Bangladesh on Sunday announced a 15-member squad for the first two games of this series, with Liton Das leading the team.

Mahidul Islam Ankon has been included in the T20 squad. He has made his ODI and Test debuts for Bangladesh. He played his only Test match for Bangladesh against South Africa in October 2024. He made his ODI debut for Bangladesh last month against the West Indies, scoring 46, 17, and 6 runs.

All-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin has also made it to Bangladesh's T20I squad. He has been included in Bangladesh's T20I squad against Ireland. Taskin Ahmed and Shamim Hossain have not been selected.

Bangladesh's T20I squad for the first two matches of the series: Liton Das (captain), Saif Hasan (vice-captain), Tanjid Hasan, Parvez Hossain Emon, Touhid Hridoy, Zaker Ali, Nurul Hasan, Mahidul Islam Ankon, Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Shoriful Islam, and Mohammad Saifuddin.

The three-match T20I series between Bangladesh and Ireland will begin on November 27th. The first and second matches between the two teams will be played in Chittagong on November 27th and 29th, respectively. The two teams will then face each other in the third match on December 2nd, which will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka.
